Te Reo Technology

Here is our homework for today it is an maori translation to saying parent names in te reo we had to list down five slots of names and translate them so far i’ve got all my buddys parent names.

Secondly was our group discussion were we would stand up and say our parents names all together names were said and we finished with a little documentary on why Pukekohe is the most racial place in New Zealand and why no maoris were not aloud and pakeha were abusive to maori and we finished with a karakia.

Technology T4 2022

Today was our second technology of Term 4 we were learning about translating days of the week into te re.

as usually Matua harley introduce us to the marae/learning center he politely told us to take off our shoes before entering the marae we then sat down into a circle ready to start our lesson matua harley then started our lesson he showed us the translation of what day is it today=ko te aha tenei ra.

we would respond in an answers it is tuesday today=ko te ratu tenei ra we then were asked by matua harley to revised from last week saying all the days of the week in order here is how it goes:Rahina,Ratu, raapa, rapare, ramere, rahoroi and ratapu. Then it was quiz time Matua harley would then ask a question then we would answer the question was what day is it in 3 days??then we would answer in te reo in 3 day it would be friday.

And then we ended it with a documentary about why pukekohe is the target place for maori racism throughout the years maoris were very unwealthy they were living in huts and were bullied a lot all pakeha children and adults had no rules to anyone but to the maoris they were different they had to have no haircuts no house and no right right now there are protesters protesting for there right in pukekohe to live in good natural being.

Technology

Today at Technology we were starting to carve our pieces of art.

Mr grundy introduced us as usually then he told us its carving day so we had to pick our design for the cutting I choose a muscle arm because i’m strong and kind and caring but if it doesn’t work then i would choose a cross for jesus cause hes the man.

secondly Mr Grundy thought us how to use the saw for the cutting he said to always stay calm and move slowly to get a prefect shape and to stop anytime but he had strict rules is to never take your eyes of the machine until its off second rule was to don’t distract the person who is cutting and no looking over their shoulders.

thirly Mr grundy had us to put our carvings into a mould for the melted pewter first is to grab to more pieces of wood and snap it together with the carving we just cut then Mr Grundy melts special metal called pewter its a bendable metal he melts it in a small metal bowl and the heat is very flammable so once the metal is melted then he pours it into the mold and leaves it to harden

lastly we checked up onto the moulds and it was harden so we were ready for the carving but we were out of time so we were going to save it for next week.
